Reminiscing Over the Past 10 Years
We recently celebrated our 10 year Anniversary at Timeless Elements Med Spa and Laser Center in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Looking back over the years is especially interesting to me as I am the founder of the Med Spa.
As for technological changes, there have been so many too many changes to count, so I won’t go in that direction.
As for the aesthetic industry, the changes have been astronomical as well. It seems that this country as a whole is interested in how they look and even more about how they feel. Our clients gain so much confidence after having some of our procedures done. As a provider, it gratifying beyond words when a client leaves our office feeling more confident.
Looking back over the last 10 years, the biggest change that I have noticed has come in just the name “Med Spa”. When we opened in 2008, people just gave me a blank stare when I said I was opening a Med Spa. Some didn’t say anything and many more replied with “What’s that?” Then when I told them that we would be injecting Botox and Dermal Fillers, their eyes would open wide and they would change the subject. I’m sure that most people thought that Botox was for the rich and famous on the East or West Coasts, not for normal every- day people who live in the Midwest! Most people probably thought that I must be nuts opening a med spa in Minnesota.
Today, med spas have become very popular. Most people have heard of Botox and have an idea of what it is used for. The word “Botox” is no longer a whisper, but rather it is a shout. The services we do at the med spa are more common place than they were just a mere 10 years ago. To me, 10 years is a very short time. Looking back now, the years flew by! As I wonder about the next 10 years, there are so many new products and procedures coming out in the aesthetic field today that it is impossible to even imagine.
As I'm writing this blog, I’m thinking about all the changes that have occurred in the last 10 years. Just think, blogs may not even exist in 10 years! It is hard to imagine what will replace them, but I’m pretty sure something will! Thank you to all of our customers and especially my staff for joining me in this “crazy” endeavor! I look forward to working with all of you over the next 10 years!
